Diet Does Affect Acne

Millions of teens and adults struggle to cope with acne. All too often, they turn to various creams and ointments to do the job. What if they knew getting rid of acne was as easy as eating the proper foods?

A systematic review of the reseach shows that “there exists convincing data supporting the role of dairy products and high-glycemic-index foods in influencing hormonal and inflammatory factors, which can increase acne prevalence and severity.” “High-glycemic-index foods” include sugar, most breakfast cereals, white rice, potatoes, white breat, etc. Low-glycemic-index foods include fruits, veggies, whole grains products, yogurt, etc.

So, to decrease the prevelance and severity of acne, replace your consumption of dairy products, sugar, white bread, white rice and most breakfast cereals with more fruits veggies and whole grains.
