Breast-Feeding for Less Than 1 Month Increases Mother’s Risk of Diabetes

Mothers who do not breast-feed at all are almost twice as likely to develop type 2 diabetes as those mothers who breast-feed their babies for at least one month. While studies have already shown that breast-feeding reduces the risk of breast and ovarian cancer, type 2 diabetes, and postpartum depression, this study clearly defines the risk at the one-month point.
