Eat More Often to Keep Weight Down

The concept of “three square meals a day” is being replaced by a pattern of eating smaller portions throughout the day. Researchers have found that people who eat smaller potions over the course of the day tend to eat fewer calories and be normal weight, while those who eat three meals per day tend to eat more calories and be overweight.

These findings make sense when you consider that your body is burning calories constantly and needs a regular intake of food to meet that need. Eating more often also helps your body to feel full with less food making you less likely to overeat.

At the end of the day, you want the calories you consume to meet your nutritional needs and be sufficient for the calories you burn. If you are looking to lose weight, you want to eat fewer calories than you burn. In addition, you will want to look at nutritional supplements to insure that you are meeting your nutritional needs.
