Too Many Drug Prescriptions
Over half of the nation believes that medical doctors are prescribing too many drugs. According to a “national telephone survey, 52% (of Americans) said there are too many prescriptions written for drugs by doctors.”
Taking any drug, prescription or over-the-counter, should be avoided if possible. When given a prescription, patients should ask whether the drug is necessary given the natural healing process or if there is a non-drug alternative that might involve nutritional supplements, herbs, a change in diet or exercise. Medical doctors are much more likely to provide viable non-drug alternatives when asked by patients.
Patients have choices in all health care that is offered by their provider. Exercising those choices will likely mean the difference in their ultimate health.
