Walnuts Have Best Polyphenols

Nuts have powerful antioxidants called polyphenols. Polyphenols are known to lower cholesterol and reduce inflammation.

A new study found that “walnuts had the highest free and total polyphenols in both the combined raw and roasted samples.” Walnuts are also high in protein, fiber and other important nutrients.

In addition, roasting has almost no effect on the polyphenols in nuts. So you can eat them as you like.

Grab a sack of walnuts next time you go shopping. Add them to salads or add them as a snack in your kid’s lunches. They are much better than processed snacks.
