Obesity Increases Arthritis?

In addition to the growing number of detrimental effects of obesity, a new study found that a “history of obesity was significantly associated with developing rheumatoid arthritis.” According to the study, obesity increases the risk of rheumatoid arthritis by 24%. Researchers noted that the increased risk of arthritis for obese people “may account for much of the recent increase in the incidence of rheumatoid arthritis.”
