A recent study found that men can dramatically lower their risk of type 2 diabetes through weight training and aerobic exercising. Researchers “observed a dose-response relationship between an increasing amount of time spent on weight training or aerobic exercise and lower risk of T2DM.”

The study results showed that “engaging in weight training or aerobic exercise for at least 150 minutes per week was independently associated with a lower risk of T2DM of 34% and 52%, respectively. Men who engaged in aerobic exercise and weight training for at least 150 minutes per week had the greatest reduction in T2DM risk (59%).”

The benefits of exercise are many. The detriment to your health when you don’t exercise is significant. While most of us don’t really enjoy exercising regularly, it is a required regimen if you want to lead a happy, healthy life.
