Larger Waistline = Less Sex for Men
A recent study examined if a larger waist circumference (WC) is predictive of a greater severity of lower urinary tract symptoms. The study looked at men over 40 years old who had waistlines less than 35”, 35”-40” and over 40”.
The results of the study were that:
- “WC was significantly and positively associated with prostate volume, serum prostate-specific antigen and International Prostate Symptom Score.
- “Higher WCs were also significantly associated with a greater prevalence of hypertension, coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity as well as the presence of erectile dysfunction and ejaculatory dysfunction.”
Just another reason to keep yourself fit, especially as you get older.
