Helmetless Cycling Increases Death Risk

Ever wonder how important it is for you or your children to wear a helmet while riding on your bicycle? According to recent research “not wearing a helmet while cycling is associated with an increased risk of sustaining a fatal head injury.”

How much of an increase?

People who don’t wear their helmet are more than three times as likely to experience a fatal head injury. This is true if you are young, old, get in a serious accident (more than just a head injury) or only damage your head.

It only takes a moment to put on a helmet and prevent an injury that could end your life. It’s like putting on your seat belt in your car. Why risk it?
