Vitamin D has a range of benefits and one of them has to do with colorectal cancer. Another study on the benefits of vitamin D looked specifically at colorectal cancer. This study found that higher concentrations of circulating vitamin D reduce the risk of colorectal cancer by as much as 40%. Using a midlevel of 50.0-75.0 nmol/l, the risk ratios are as follows:

<25.0 nmol/l level of circulating vitamin D results in a risk ratio of 1.32

25.0-49.9 nmol/l level of circulating vitamin D results in a risk ratio of 1.28

50.0 – 100.0 nmol/l level of circulating vitamin D results in a risk ratio of 1.00

75.0-99.9 nmol/l level of circulating vitamin D results in a risk ratio of 0.88

>or=100.0 nmol/l level of circulating vitamin D results in a risk ratio of 0.77
