Mediterranean Diet Cuts Diabetes Risk in Half

A Mediterranean Diet involves eating vegetables, fruits, whole grains, olives/olive oil, fish and in lesser amounts, cheese, yogurt, nuts, seeds, legumes, eggs, herbs, with occasional small portions of meats, sweets and wine. A study determines that people who eat a Mediterranean Diet found that their “diabetes incidence was reduced by 52%.” Interestingly enough, the “diabetes risk reduction occurred in the absence of significant changes in body weight or physical activity.”
