Marijuana Use = Depression

Depression can be as debilitating as physical trauma, and after all the hoopla that marijuana is harmless, evidence is mounting that non-depressed teens who use marijuana are more likely to be depressed as young adults. And, the more marijuana your child uses, the more greater the likelihood that they will have depression in their young adult years.

According to a study presented at a meeting of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, the relationship between marijuana use and depression is  “dose-dependent”, meaning that greater marijuana use by teens increased the likelihood that they will be depressed as young adults. Obviously, not all teen depression is marijuana-related. But the link the study clearly demonstrates that marijuana use comes with a price that can impact a person later in life. Something to share with people you care about.
