Exercise for ADHD?

An interesting study looks at how daily exercise might impact people with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The investigators found that “the present results suggested that treadmill exercise might exert ameliorating effect on ADHD through reduction of Purkinje cell loss and astrocytic reaction in the cerebellum.”

While this was a study on rats, it has the potential to provide guidance for children with ADHD. If your child has been diagnosed with ADHD, talk to your doctor about the potential for regular exercise to lessen the effects.

    talk to your doctor about it? why? just do it. its clearly good for kids to exercise ‘more’ adhd or no adhd.
