Lavender Oil for Bronchial Asthma

A recent study “evaluated the anti-inflammatory effect of Lvn (Lavender essential oil) on experimentally induced bronchial asthma” in mice. Researchers looked at the impact of the lavender oil on inflammation as well as inhibiting an increase in airway resistance.

The study concluded that “Lvn inhibits allergic inflammation and mucous cell hyperplasia with suppression of T-helper-2 cell cytokines and Muc5b expression in a murine (mice) model of asthma. Consequently, Lvn may be useful as an alternative medicine for bronchial asthma.”
