Osteoarthritis is Metabolic?
Metabolic Syndrome is an ailment typified by high blood sugar, elevated blood pressure, excessive body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol. People who have metabolic syndrome increase their risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Recent studies suggest that osteoarthritis (OA) may also be caused by metabolic syndrome. According to one study, “OA has been linked not only to obesity but also to other cardiovascular risk factors, namely, diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and insulin resistance.”
Consider the above if you or a loved one suffer from osteoarthritis. Getting in shape may be a more effective solution than drugs.
