Panera Bread Says “No No”

On May 5, 2015, the Panera Bread company became the “first national restaurant company to share (its) list of unacceptable ingredients.” Entitled “The No No List”, Panera presented which ingredients are not currently in their food and which they are eliminating in the near future.

The list includes the obvious ingredients like (synthetic) artificial colors, artificial flavors and added nitrates/nitrites. But it also contains a long list of lesser known ingredients that Panera has decided shouldn’t be in their food.

While probably not complete, the No No list might be a great guideline when looking at the ingredients of other food, particularly fast food or prepared food.
